Sarah Grace Cooley Crews, 85, of Panama City, Florida died June 9th, 2012 at her home. Born in Panama City, Florida to Mr. Gus and Bessie M. Cooley, Sarah Grace was a happy, loving, kind, energetic Christian homemaker and a "true woman of grace" in all the things she enjoyed doing during her life including; gardening, travel, the outdoors and always being there for many with a friendly smile and encouraging word.
She enjoyed many activities that she will be remembered for. Besides the many things she contributed to her children and family as a beloved mother, she was Chaplain of the Navy Wives Club 1960, a member of Rush L. Darby Court No. 28 Order of the Amararith, an active volunteer Scout's Leader for 5 years and faithful member of St. Andrew Baptist Church and their Haven Hearts Adult Choir in Panama City, Fl. She chose to live out her senior years with her beloved daughter, Sandra, who assisted in her care.
Sarah is survived by her husband, Hiram E. Crews of 50 years of marriage; her daughter,
Sandra J. Crews of Pensacola, Fl., her sons, Royce Clark of Columbus, IN. and Dr. David
T. Crews of Pensacola, Fl.; granddaughter, Andrea Snodgrass Sapp of Pensacola, Fl. and 3 great granddaughters, Kayla, Ciara, and Hailey Sapp. Sarah is also survived by her sister, Modray Knauss of Panama City, Fl., and her brothers, Don Cooley of Panama City, Fl., Harold Cooley of Atlanta, Ga., Paul Cooley of Panama City, Fl., and Tommy Cooley of Panama City, Fl.
She lives through the care received by family and other helping hearts. Thank you Tina Black, Paula Ramsey, and Delena Tremper.
The visitation will start at 10 o'clock on Thursday, prior to the service. Funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, June 14, 2012 with Rev. Mark Cooley and Dr. John Palvus officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Mitchell Cooley, Richard Cooley, Wally Cooley, Tommy Cooley Jr., Christopher Cooley and Weston Cooley.
