She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Harvey Megis Hallmon; her father, S.I. Singletary Sr.; mother, Verna Porter Singletary; and brother, S.I. Hughes; grandchildren, Darrell Hallmon and wife Kathy, Denise Rowan and husband Joseph, Robert Casey and wife Lisa, Connie McKenzie and husband Danny, Chris Hughes and wife Vickie, Dr. Tamara Hughes and husband Michael; 11 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Vernell Barnett and husband John, Ina Joy Wicker and husband Bill. As we rejoice in Mom joining our Lord and her other family members in Heaven, we that are left behind will miss her forever.
Mom was a lifelong resident of Bay County, being born in Millville, and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a person of outstanding Christian faith and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She was a homemaker and loved to work in her yard with her beautiful flowers. Mom also enjoyed playing the violin and piano. She retired from St. Joe Telephone Company after 22 years of service. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.
The family extends a special thank you to Mom's dear friends, Ron and Gale Daum and Hospice for the support, care and love shown during her last days with us.
