On Wednesday, October 19, Sara Rebecca "Becky" Taylor passed away at the age of 79 after a long struggle with dementia. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Robert J "Joel" Taylor Sr and her children Robert "Bobby" J Taylor Jr (wife Sharon) and Kimberly "Kim" Rebecca Taylor Vossmer. She was blessed with 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Becky was born in Atlanta, Georgia on June 21, 1943 to JB and Sally Echols and lived her childhood years in Lexington, Georgia with her parents and her brother, Everitte, and sister, Guynel, and the extended Echols and Hitchcock families in the surrounding counties. Her family moved to Panama City, Florida in 1956 and she was a graduate of Bay High School in 1961. She married Joel Taylor in March 1962. Becky and Joel were active members of Cove Baptist Church and then Callaway Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Becky was known for her big smile and big heart and was a devoted and supportive wife, mother and grandmother. A visitation time will be held for family and friends from 5-7pm on Wednesday October 26, 2022 at the funeral home. Memorial services will be held at 11am on Thursday October 27, 2022 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow with a graveside service at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. All are invited to attend.
