Obituary

Sadie Ruth Odom Lovett, 93, entered into the Gates of Heaven on Tuesday, June 27th, 2023.  She was born December 8, 1929 in Graceville, Florida. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Sadie enjoyed a very fulfilling career working for the Bay County Property appraiser as the Deputy Property Appraiser where she retired in 1994 after many years of service.  During mothers many years of working with the Property Appraiser's Office, she enjoyed her tenure working for Gerald Conrad, Richard Davis, Rick Barnett and present Property Appraiser Honorable Dan Sowell.

Mother was a life long member of Southport Baptist Church where she served as church secretary/clerk and taught Vacation Bible School and girl's bible classes.  Sadie and Eddie Lovett had a special calling on their lives to walk along side of and assist the men of God who were called to pastor and give leadership to Southport Baptist Church over the years by praying for them and making them welcome in their home on a regular basis.

Sadie was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Edmond Young (Eddie) Lovett; her parents John Wesley Odom and Abbie Vickers Odom; her brothers Rufus Odom, Paul Odom, Lloyd Odom, Robert Odom, Doyle Odom and one sister Shirley Odom Ammons. Her remaining brother Jim Odom presently resides in Marianna, Florida.

Sadie is survived by two sons, Aaron Lovett (Jacquie) and Edmond Y. Lovett, Jr. (Debra); grandchildren, James Aaron Lovett, Jr. (Kelly), Jennifer Lovett Cooper (Kevin) Graham Lovett (Kelly), Patrice Lovett Griffitts (Matt), Adam Lovett, Ruth Ann Lovett Vosbrink (Rev Jeff Vosbrink) and John Lovett; great grandchildren, James Aaron Lovett (Nicole), Cooper Lovett (Taylor), Abby Lovett, Jacquelyn Cooper McQuigan (Mason), Anna Cooper, Caylee Smith, Calvin Smith, Braydon Griffitts, Sadie Bell Lovett, Emily Hughes, Bayvin Vosbrink, Miriam Vosbrink and Adelaide Vosbrink.

The family will receive friends at Wilson Funeral home on Thursday, June 29th from 5 PM to 7 PM.  A Graveside Service will be held at 10 AM Friday, June 30th, at the Old Southport Cemetery.  Officiating will be Rev Jeff Vosbrink, Pastor of Wanilla Baptist Church and Dr. Steve Taylor, Senior Pastor of Emerald Coast Fellowship.
