RUTH HUGHES WHETSTONE
Ruth Hughes Whetstone, 98, of Panama City, died Sunday, November 22, 2009 in a local hospital. She was born February 4, 1911 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to Bela Victor & Maude Barringer Hughes. She had been a resident of Panama City since 2003 moving here from St. Mary's Georgia. She was a member of the St. Mary's United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Dantzler Whetstone, her parents, and 3 brothers, Grady Hughes, Horace Hughes, and George Hughes. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Belcher and husband, Sam; granddaughter, Valerie Sitterle and husband, Jeff; great grandchild, Zachary Sitterle and numerous nieces and nephews. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date in Memory Hills Gardens, Tuscaloosa, AL. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make a contribution to Emerald Coast Hospice, 2925 Martin Luther King Blvd, Panama City, FL 32405 or St Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Ruth Hughes Whetstone.
