RUTH THOMPSON LLOYD
Ruth Thompson Lloyd, 92, of Panama City, passed away Saturday April 9, 2011. She was born January 3, 1919 in Winona, Mississippi. She was the Manager of Smith's Ladies Shop for 20 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Lloyd; two step sons, William Lloyd, Jr., Donald Lloyd and seven brothers. She was a member of the Panama City Garden Club and was a former member of the Panama City Woman's Club. She attended Forest Park United Methodist Church. She is survived by special niece, Sarah Rehage; sister-in-law, Lillie Lloyd; step daughter-in-law, Lee Lloyd; special friends, Doreen Fountain, Delores Barron, Mary Donahue, Jackie Wyman, Rory Smith, Debbie Hubbard; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John Friedman officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 9 – 10 a.m. prior to the service. Those desiring may make memorial donations to Forest Park United Methodist Church or to the Salvation Army. The family would like to send a special thanks to her caregiver, Jackie King, Dr. Marion Mathews; Jolene Barnes; and the staff at Oaks Medical Center.
