MAJOR RUTH MARION HUDSON
Major Ruth Marion Hudson, 86, of Panama City Beach, was Promoted to Glory on Friday, October 4, 2013 at Panama City Nursing Center. She was born on September 25, 1927 in Oceanside Long Island, New York. She was a Major with the Salvation Army, retiring in 1986, after 40 years of service. She had been a resident of Panama City Beach for the past 7 years, moving here from West Palm Beach, Florida. She was a Soroptimist and Silver Star Mother. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Byrd Henry Hudson and a son, Edward Harold Hudson. She is survived by her three children, Connie Hudson, Major Henry Hudson and wife Major Debby Hudson, Steve Hudson and wife Beki; five grandchildren, Heather Kite and husband Tim, Jonathan Hudson and wife Heather, Jacob Hudson, Adam Hudson, Lance Radford; and two great grandchildren, Ashton Hudson and Christabel Kite. A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Salvation Army Citadel, Lynn Haven. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 4 – 6 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. EDT on Wednesday at Westview Cemetery, Atlanta, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Salvation Army World Services "Missionary Efforts", 1824 W. 15th Street, Panama City, FL 32401 in memory of Major Ruth Hudson.
