Russell DeVon Philips, 84, of Lynn Haven, FL passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020. He was born on August 26, 1935 in Panama City, FL. He served in the United States Army from 1953-1957. Russell worked as a supervisor in the environmental/health/safety department of Mead Coated Board from1966-1997 and was named Employee of the Year in 1995. He was a member of Bayou George Assembly of God. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Garrett Philips and Gussie Elizabeth Haskell Philips and a great grandson, Michael. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Charlotte G. Philips; five children, Charles G. Philips (June) of Eufaula, AL, Cathy P. Gilmore (Bill) of Eufaula, AL, Russell S. Philips (Michelle) of Toney, AL, Melissa Murphy (Bill) of Lynn Haven, FL; Melinda A. Estes (Robert) of Hoover, AL; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth Smith of Marietta, GA. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 20, 2020 at 11 am in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Dean Shumway officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, January 19, 2020 from 5-7 pm.
