Ruby Craft Gilbert
Ruby Craft Gilbert, 89, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 26, 2007, in a local nursing facility.
Ruby was a loving mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of the Lord. She was born Sept. 24, 1917, in Blakely, Ga., to the late Edgar and Irene Craft. She had been a resident of Wewahitchka, Fla. for most of her life. Ruby was a dedicated nurse for thirty years at the Gulf County Health Department and an active member of Westside Baptist Church.
She leaves behind her loving family, including husband of 66 years, William Edward Gilbert; brother, Russell Craft; son, Kenneth Gilbert and wife, Anita; two grandchildren, Carla Lilja and husband, Roy; Christa Colvin and husband, Jim; and three great grandchildren all of Panama City, Fla.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 29, at Westside Baptist Church with Reverend Derrick Gerber officiating. Active pallbearers will be: Billy Gilbert, Roy Lilja, Jim Colvin, Jerry Harbuck, Lamar Davis, and Harold Rowland.
Honorary pallbearers will include the Deacons of Westside Baptist Church of Wewahitchka. Interment will follow at the Jehu Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Wilson Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2007. Those desiring to do so may make contributions to the building fund of Westside Baptist Church in Ruby's name.
