ROYCE FRANKLIN "FRANK" HARRELL

Royce Franklin "Frank" Harrell, 81, of Youngstown, passed away Monday, February 18, 2013. He was born December 31, 1931 in Dothan, Alabama to Ollie & Robbie Harrell Sr. Frank joined the U.S. Navy fresh out of high school and served during the Korean War. He met his first love, June Hayes, while on furlough and they married and shared two children together. He worked for the Bay Line and Chattahoochee Industrial Railroad, where he started out as a locomotive operator and worked his way up to trainmaster. After retiring from the railroad, he sold tires for Ollie Harrell Tires for 10 years and finally retired to a wonderful life of fishing. He was known in Bay County for starting an elite club known as the "Brim Club," where local businessmen came together to enjoy fish fry's. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Harrell; son, Steve Harrell; and one brother, Ollie Harrell, Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Janet Garner (Randy); one grandson, Stephen Chase Mathews; and special caregiver, Gina Chapple. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Grace Fellowship Church, 117 N Highway 22 A, Panama City, FL with Rev. Max Beauchamp officiating. Those desiring may make memorial donations to Covenant Hospice, 107 W 19th Street, Panama City, FL 32405 in memory of Frank Harrell.
