ROY E. PIERCE

Roy E. Pierce, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on October 15, 2007, after a prolonged illness. Born in Barry County, Michigan, June 16, 1924, graduated from Bellevue High School and served in the US Army in 1946. He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Ruth (Evelyn Ruth Smallcombe). Their family includes four children, daughters, Leona Falk, Dowagiac, Michigan; Eva Hoekstra, Decatur, Michigan; Angela Morton, Veedersberg, Indiana; and son, Frank Pierce in Panama City. Son, Roy Junior, died in infancy. Roy and Ruth have fifteen grand children, sixteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Roy, son of Oscar and Leona (Terwilliger) Pierce, leaves behind three brothers residing in Michigan, Bob of Battle Creek, James Mark of Hastings, and Dwight of Charlotte.
Siblings preceding him in death were sisters: Lucille Love, and Betty Seume, and brothers Foye, Milo, and Gordon.

Roy is known by many for the 28 years of service he provided with the W.W. Hoshel International Harvester dealership and another 14 years with Three Rivers Dairy Equipment Company, owned by his brother-in-law Lawrence (Smokey) Smallcombe.
During those years he repaired and serviced buses, trucks, farm, lawn, and garden equipment for untold numbers of friends in the Three Rivers area. After his retirement, at the request of many friends, he continued to provide quality service from home as "Roy's Small Engine Repair". His fair and honest efforts kept him busy for several years.

Ruth will make her home in Panama City, Florida with their son, Frank, and his wife, Kathy.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Floyd Wright officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 – 7 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in the Marcellus Cemetery in Marcellus, Michigan.
