ROY FRED COKER
Roy Fred Coker, 77, of Panama City, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2009. He was born December 12, 1931 in Geneva County, Alabama. As a young man, Roy spent 4 years, working for Jim Walter Homes. He owned businesses and property in the Panama City area, and then was a building official here as well as in Jackson County for 21 years until retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy G. and Mamie Coker and 2 brothers, Billy and Jack. Roy was blessed to be with his loving wife, Nell, for 30 years. He is also survived by his daughter, Jane Coker; son, Benjamin Coker; step daughter, Kathy and husband, Pat Smith; step son, Steve and wife, Janet Bush, grandchildren, Christy McGough and husband, Mark, Amber Coker, James and Jamie Angerbrandt, Ryan Smith, William Bush, Brian and Pamela Bush; great grandchildren, Kyle, Taylor and Ryan McGough, Blake and Brandon Angerbrandt, Kaylee, Trevor, Emma and Kate Bush. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1 – 2 p.m. prior to the service.
