Ronald Eugene Hanold, aged 76, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025. Born in Kane, Pennsylvania, and raised in Tampa, Florida, he was a dedicated husband and father of three. He was known for his unwavering commitment to family, providing devoted care to loved ones in times of need, including supporting his wife through her terminal illness and assisting his special needs grandson. His enduring generosity extended to neighbors, friends, and relatives, exemplifying kindness, compassion, and selfless service to others.
He served honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era and completed his degree at the University of West Florida in 1975. Professionally, he contributed his skills to RGIS and later Sears in Montgomery, Alabama, before relocating to Panama City with his wife to help care for family members.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Ruby; his sister, Jane; his mother, Ruth; and his father, Chester. He is survived by his brother, Butch; his children, Amber, Glenn, and Jennifer; six grandchildren—Gavin, Gabriella, Jake, John Parker, Dylan, and Hunter—as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins with whom he maintained close relationships.
Visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m. CST on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Wilson Funeral Home in Panama City, followed by services at 3:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Tallahassee National Cemetery at 12:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.
