Roma Brown Boswell, 87, of Parker, Fla., passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010, at her home after a short battle with cancer.
She was born July 27, 1922, in Millville, FL, to Alex and Mary Pearl Brown.
She served in the United States Navy as a Seaman First Class from Oct. 1944 to April 1946. Mrs. Boswell was a Supervisor at the Southern Bell Telephone office in Panama City for 15 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Stiner "Dick" Boswell and son, Charles David Boswell. She is survived by her son, Alex Richard Boswell and wife, Debra, of St. Johns, FL.; daughter-in-law, Dorilus "Dorie" Boswell of Vernon, FL.; five grandchildren, Michelle, Nicole, Jonathan, Noah and Nathan; and two sisters Vonceil "Cecil" Boswell of Panama City, FL and Elizabeth Davis and husband Dave of Thomasville, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010, in the Wilson Funeral Home chapel with Jonnie Shipbaugh of the Seventh-day Adventist Church assisted by Sammy Day. Interment will follow in Millville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice 107 W. 19th Street, Panama City, FL 32405 in memory of Roma. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Hospice team for the wonderful care they provided during the last few weeks.
