Roland Newton Hall

USAF Major Roland Newton Hall, born April 4, 1916 made his final flight on November 3, 2006. He is survived by his wife, Willie Joiner Hall, of 59 happy years of marriage, daughter Dian Hall, son, Roland G. Hall and wife Melinda, and his four grandchildren Dante Hall, Rachel Hall, Nick Hall, Brian Hall and numerous nieces and nephews. Major Hall was born in Weir, Texas to Luther Fletcher Hall and Lillie Dell White Hall and one of ten brothers and sisters. One of Major Hall's proudest achievements was his 31 years of service to the United States Air Force. Over the course of his military career Major Hall served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam Wars. As an Air Force pilot and military leader he was honored with over 17 ribbons and medals during his military career, culminating with his receipt of the Airmen's medal and Medal of Honor conferred by the Vietnamese for saving multiple lives during an aircraft explosion. Roland N. Hall's heroic military service is only surpassed by his loving devotion as husband and father to his family. Graveside services will be held at the Lynn Haven Cemetery with full military honors on Sunday, November 5, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Covenant Hospice, 107 West 19th Street, Panama City, FL 32405.
