Roger Wayne Sims, 62, of Panama City, FL passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2019, after a heroic battle with cancer. He was born on August 5, 1956 in Panama City, FL to Charles and Susie Sims. Roger enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, grilling, working and being surrounded by family. He was a dedicated electrician for Jack Daniels Electric. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Sims, and two siblings. He will always be remembered by his wife of 39 years, Myrna Sims of Panama City, FL; children, Bryan Bennett (Natalie) of Newman, GA, Carrie Turner (Robert) of Lynn Haven, FL, and Amanda Roberts (Ryan) of Lynn Haven, FL; grandchildren, Ryan, Ashley, Blake and Chasity Bennett, Haley Kinney and Grayson Turner; mother, Susie Sims. Roger will also be remembered by his siblings and dear friends. He will be deeply missed by his beloved dog and companion, Roxie. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Hankins officiating. Interment will follow at the Lynn Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Wilson Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 from 6-8 pm. Following interment, friends are invited to join the family at the home.
