Robin Lynn Wood Gay October 16, 1966 – December 4, 2025
Robin Lynn Wood Gay, 59, of Southport, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 4, 2025, in her home surrounded by loved ones. Born on October 16, 1966, in Orlando, Florida, Robin was the daughter of Kenneth Duncan Wood and Ina Joyce Cook Wood.
Robin was a graduate of Colquitt County High School in Moultrie, Georgia, and later earned her bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southern University. She went on to earn a Dietician Degree in Raleigh, North Carolina. As a Dietician and Group Facility Administrator with Davita, Robin not only excelled professionally but also deeply cherished the relationships she formed with her patients and co-workers.
Robin was saved as a young child and was strong in her faith throughout her entire life. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Panama City, FL. Her faith guided her kindness, her strength, and the loving way she cared for others. Those who loved her find comfort knowing she is now rejoicing in Heaven.
Robin was well known for her Southern grace, style, and charm. She cherished family gatherings and the time spent with loved ones. She was also known for bringing her delicious Southern-style vegetables to these events —especially her beloved butter beans.
Above all else, Robin’s greatest love was her family. She was a devoted mother to her only daughter, Lillian Elizabeth Gay Pettijohn (Samuel), and cherished her loving mother, Ina, and dear cousin, Karin, with all her heart. Robin was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Duncan Wood, and her uncle, Earnest A. Cook.
She is survived by her daughter; mother; brother, Kenneth Dwayne Wood; aunts and uncles, Dianne Brockman (Rae) and Janet Cook Martin (Robert); nephews, John Gabriel Wood (Ashtyn) and Dylan Wood; as well as cousins Kelley, Mark, Michael, Michelle, Karin, and Tim.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 3 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 2–3 p.m. prior to the service.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Robin’s cousin, Karin, who devoted herself to Robin’s care during her final days.
