Robert Carroll Turner was born and raised in Washington, D.C. He was a former member of the Anacostia United Methodist Church and attended Woodlawn United Methodist Church. He served his country in the United States Army in Korea. He also worked at the Railway Express and was a U.S. Capitol Policeman for 24 years. He retired to Panama City Beach in July 1994.
His parents, Richard Carroll Turner and Beatrice Louise Turner, and his twin brother, Richard Norman Turner, have gone on ahead. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 40 years, Darla Tuner; son, Peter Carroll Tuner; brothers, Billy Turner and wife Tina, Michael Turner and wife Linda; aunt, Doris Blackwell; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 27 at 11 a.m. in the Woodlawn United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Irwin officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m., one hour prior to service time.
