Robert G. "Capt Bob" Schenkelberg went to be with the Lord on August 16, 2017. He was born on February 12, 1934 to Peter and Ruby Schenkelberg in Spencer, Iowa. He served in the USAF for 20 years, retiring in Panama City, Florida to pursue his true love of fishing; obtaining his Captain's license. He spent 20 plus years taking his favorite people to the best fishing spots year after year.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Annie (Ed Dickinson), his son-in-law Robert E. Fleming and his daughter in law Connie. Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Audrey, his brother Dale, his son Loren of Woodbridge, Virginia, daughters LuAnn (Jamie Barnes) of Great Falls, Montana and Lynne, eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors at Wilson Funeral Home from 6pm to 8pm on Friday August 18th. The service will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church's Family Life Center at 10am on Saturday August 19th. Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 21 at 1 p.m. in the Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Florida.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in his memory.
