Obituary

Robert Lyndon Powell, 90, of Panama City, went to be with the Lord on August 9, 2013.
Lyndon was born and raised on a farm near Campbellton, Florida and moved to Bay County in 1940.
He served his country in the United States Navy, as a combat airman, on a PB-4Y submarine hunter (B-24) airplane during WW II in the Pacific.
He worked many years in the Bay County area in the field of air-conditioning and refrigeration.
He was an avid outdoorsman and was a lifetime member of many sportsman groups including the NRA, North American Hunting Club, Buck-Masters and National Wild Turkey Federation. He also was one of the founding members of the Bear Creek Sportsman's Association and High Lonesome Hunt Club. He had many friends commonly known as "Huntin Buddies".
Lyndon was preceded in death by his father, W.R. Powell, his mother, Mary Alice Powell, and his sisters, Allie Sidaris, Willie Ruth Riley, Annette Adams and Frances Powell. He is survived by his sister, Sue Wooten, of Blackshear, Georgia and several nephews and nieces.
Graveside services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. CDT at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Rev. Bill Sears officiating.
