ROBERT MEMMER
Robert "Bob" Memmer of Lynn Haven, FL died of CHF quietly at home on Wed, 12/06/06 in the loving arms of his family and went to the loving arms of God. He was 80. He was born in Elberfeld, IN on 12/10/25 to the late Albert and Mamie Memmer. He graduated from Poseyville High School in 1943. He served in the Army Air Corps in WWII and was stationed in Italy. He attained the rank of Technical Sergeant. Bob married his first wife, the former Mildred Wahl of Dale, IN on 6/20/50. Bob worked as a Sound Engineer at Evansville's Whirlpool plant during the 60's and early 70's. After his first wife's death in 1971 he changed careers. Bob worked for Xerox/Honeywell/Bull as a Computer Hardware Technician in Indianapolis, Evansville, IN and Memphis, TN. He finally settled down in Montgomery, AL where he retired in 1986, met and courted his new love, the former Bets Nichols. The new couple married on 10/12/91 and moved to Lynn Haven, FL in 1996, where they soon found their new church home at The Christian Church of Panama City.
Bob is survived by his wife Bets Memmer of Lynn Haven, FL, his children and their spouses: Sandi and Jeff Simpson of Boonville, IN; Debbie Nally and Ralph Koch of Poseyville, IN; Becky Memmer of Rock Hill, SC; Roger and Ann Memmer of Lawrenceville, GA; Paula and Bill Morford of Melissa, TX; Mindy Memmer and Jerry Robinson of Montgomery, AL. He is also survived by his step-children and their spouses: Dori and Ken Hosey of Lynn Haven, FL; Arme and Shon Hill of Prattville, AL; Janine and Luke Parmelee of Columbus OH; Camilla and Billy Irvin of Montgomery, AL; Frank and Wanda Nichols of Montgomery, AL; Heather and Jimmy Brock of Niceville, FL. There are 19 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Anna Mae (Bob) Gough and a brother Gilbert (Charlotte) Memmer, both of Evansville, IN. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Mildred, his sister Virginia and two brothers, Francis and Marvin.
The funeral will be held on Monday 12/11/06 at Ft Baracus in Pensacola, FL, with visitation Sunday from 3-5pm at Wilson Funeral Home on Airport Dr in Panama City, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Covenant Hospice, Inc, 5041 N 12th Ave, Pensacola, FL 32504, or to The Christian Church at Panama City, 1814 St Andrews Blvd, Panama City, FL 32405.
