ROBERT LEWIS BOES

Robert Lewis "Bud" Boes, Lieutenant Colonel USAF Ret., passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2012. He was born in Coldwater, Michigan on January 12, 1929 and grew up in Tempe, Arizona. He graduated from Tempe Union High School in 1947 and from Arizona State College in 1953, now Arizona State University, "Go Sun Devils!" He enlisted in the USAF January 10, 1951, serving as a surgical technician for seven years and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in 1957 as a Medical Service Corps Officers. He served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Bud retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in August 1975. The Boes Family moved from Ocean Springs, MS to Panama City in June 1982. He thoroughly enjoyed Panama City and the beautiful waterways here many years. Bud is survived by his loving and caring wife, Clara F. "Tootie" Boes of 60 years; their children, Jennifer B. Glavan and husband Anthony of Ocean Springs, MS, Jeffery B. Boes and wife, Melody, of Niceville, FL; grandchildren, Joshua and Tiffany Glavan, Matthew Boes and wife Lisa, Jeffery R. Boes and wife Rebekah, Alix and Orion Boes; great grandchildren, Ethan, Dylan, Cole and Asher, Hannah Boes; and sister, Marjorie Winfrey. Over his last years, he was fortunate to be under the care of Devita Coastal Kidney Center for dialysis treatment. The family thanks the technicians, LPNs, RNs and administrative staff. Also thanks to Drs. Walker, Sinicrope, and Minga for the extension of his meaningful and productive life. Special thanks to Dr. Susan Compton for being his physician and friend to him and his family. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Lieutenant Colonel Boes will be buried with full military honors. As opposed to flowers, if you wish, donate to your favorite charity.
