Obituary

Robert J "Joel" Taylor, 82, passed away on March 24, 2023.   Joel was born August 17, 1940 in Tallahassee, FL.   He moved to Bay County with his family before he was 5 years old and was a lifelong resident of Bay County.  Joel is the middle child of Clifford Andrew and Bonnie Lee Taylor.   He is survived by his children Robert "Bobby" J Taylor, Jr (wife Sharon) and Kimberly "Kim" Taylor (Vossmer), 5 grandchildren (Ashley, Kati, Elle, Megan, Nick) and 2 great grandchildren (Taylor and Lenni), and his younger brother, Terry Taylor (Mishelle), and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Sara Rebecca "Becky" Taylor, who passed away in October 2022 and his oldest brother Clifford "Ed" Taylor who passed away in 2017.

Joel grew up in the "Cove" and spent his childhood playing marbles, riding his bike downtown and going to the Martin Theater for 5 ¢ movies. He graduated from Bay High School in 1958 after which he attended Gulf Coast Community College and proudly served in the Army Reserves.  Joel was a family man and he loved to fish and loved classic cars.  He worked for and retired from Arizona Chemical Company.

A visitation time will be held on Friday, March 31, for family and friends from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM at the funeral home.  Memorial services will be held on Friday, March 31 at 1:00 PM at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens.  All are invited to attend.
