Obituary

Robert (Bob) Charles Jensen passed away on July 6, 2023. Bob was born March 1, 1951, in Lynn Massachusetts to Ole and Peggy Jensen. Survived by his son, Anthony (Tony) Jensen, and his wife, Christi, Daughter, Jenni Jensen, Long time love, Deb Sasser, Grandson Matthew
Jensen, and his wife, Crystal, Granddaughters Julia and Autumn and Great Grandson Isaiah, Brother David Jensen, Sister Patty Moores, Brother in law, Charlie (Charles) Moores, Sisters in law Debbie Jensen, Judy Jensen, Brother in law Jim Marks, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and Kevin Duncan whom he loved like a son, Julia (Betty) Sasser, second Mom. Bob was reunited in Heaven with his parents, his brothers, Paul Jensen and Billy Jensen, his sister Mary Marks and several other family members.
Bob served in the US Army Reserves during the Vietnam War. Early in his career, Bob was an Assistant Manager for GC Murphy, a Firefighter, and EMT for Daytona 500. With a love for cars, Bob opened his first business, The Speed Shack in the mid 70's. With a passion for land development and construction, Bob also developed communities across the Panhandle and with his General Contractor license, he built many homes. Jensen Auto Sales soon followed in the mid-'80s. Bob volunteered with the Jaycees and enjoyed working on the annual Haunted House. As a Shriner Bob enjoyed being a Keystone Kop. As an avid sailor, Bob found happiness on the open water and his sailboat, The Wysteria. Along with Tony, Kevin, and several friends, The Wysteria sailed in the Regatta Del Sol Yacht Race 5 times, 4 races to Mexico and 1 to Cuba. In 1998 the Wysteria won the Regatta Del Sol Yacht Race (Cruising Class). Bob was a helper and would always lend a hand to help anyone. As an avid animal lover strays were always welcomed in his home and loved. In June 1999 Bob found sobriety and remained grateful for the relationships he made in recovery. Bob stayed extremely close to his sponsor and his family is thankful for him and for everyone in recovery that supported Bob over the years. Bob would stop whatever he was doing to help anyone that needed assistance with their recovery. Bob made lifelong friends and his family is very grateful for you all. Bob would want you all to know that recovery is possible and if he were here he would always take you to a meeting. While Bob struggled with depression, he would want you to know it's okay to ask for help. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 16, 2023 at 3 pm in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-3 pm prior to the service. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the Serenity House Incorporated, 1211 E 25th Street, Panama City, FL 32405 or to the Bay County Animal Shelter, 6401 Bayline Dr, Panama City, FL 32404 in memory of Robert Jensen.
