Robert "Bob" David Whitfield Sr., 82, of Port St. Joe, Florida passed away May 16, 2023. He was born May 18, 1940 in Overstreet, Florida to Ted and Edith Whitfield. Bob was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Port St. Joe, Fl. At the age of 75, Bob retired as site supervisor for InDyne where he worked for 55 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Lynda Whitfield. He is survived by his children, David Whitfield (Becky), Laurel Riley (Marty), Leslie Lane (David) and Kim Hallmon (Hal); grandchildren, Kheyndra Knowles (Josh), Korrie Hutto, Brittney Pippin, Katie Pippin, Philip Riley and Hannah Riley and Prince Brinson; great grandchildren, Jacob Hutto, Sadie Creamer, Ellee Creamer, Brentley Creamer, Avery Knowles, Rhett Knowles, Tharen Abbott and Heaven Brinson; sisters, Jean Fortner and Barbara Whitfield; brother, Ted Whitfield (Kay); A very Special friend, Marsha Harper Burns; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 3 p.m. EDT at the Long Avenue Baptist Church, 1601 Long Avenue, Port St. Joe, Florida with Dr. Boyd Evans officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Rest Cemetery in Overstreet, Florida. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 2 to 3 p.m. EDT. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Port St. Joe Building Fund in memory of Bob Whitfield Sr.
