Robert "Bobby" Jones Danford, 85, passed away at Sims Veterans Home on July 29, 2016. He was born in Blountstown, FL, on October 18, 1930. Bobby graduated from Bay County High School Class of 1949. He served in the United States Navy on the USS Orion during the Korean Conflict and then continued his education at William and Mary College in Virginia. He worked worldwide and retired after 25 years from Bechtel Engineering Corp in San Francisco, California. After retirement, he owned and managed 50-50 Pawn Shop in Parker, FL. Bobby was a member of the ELKS Club, Masons and the Shaddai Shrine Temple. Bobby enjoyed the outdoors working in his yard, boating, fishing, golfing, and being the "MC" life of a gathering. Bobby was preceded death by father, Rev S.P. Danford, mother, Rev Nella Wright, his high school sweetheart and wife of 22 years, Miriam A."Micky" Newberry Danford, 3 brothers, Dan Danford, Tiras J Danford and Bill S. Danford. He is survived by his children: Jeffery Robert Danford, Jill Danford Kornblatt; Loving Companion and Best friend of 42 years, Jane Adele Jones, two sisters: Imogene Ritch and Polly Shrader (Paul); 2 step daughters: Adana Evensen, Teresa Kirkland (David); 5 grandchildren, Allison Kornblatt, Tanya Sadler, Shannon Lautner, Eric Jackson ( Heather), Michael Kirkland; four great grandchildren: Christain, Ethan, Mackenzie Sadler and Hadley Jackson; many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Cash. Graveside services will be held on Monday at 2:30 in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jack Hankins officiating. Military honors and masonic rites will be conducted at the gravesite. A celebration of his life will follow the graveside service at the family's home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida 33607 in memory of Robert J. Danford.
