1939 – 2013
Robert V. Ahrens, 74, of Panama City Beach, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2013. He was born February 27, 1939 in Los Angeles, California. Bob retired from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in 1995 and moved to Panama City Beach in 2001. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Gayle Ahrens; son, Ryan James Ahrens, of Roswell, GA; three brothers, Charles Ahrens (Karen), of Emmigrant, MT; Norman Ahrens (Diana), of Ahwahnee, CA, James Ahrens (Pat), of Fresno, CA; half-sister, Karen Demeusy and half-brother, Michael Beighey, both of Oakhurst, CA. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Holy Nativity Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Steve Bates officiating. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity Bay County, PO Box 408, Panama City, FL 32402; Holy Nativity Supper at Grace Program, 1011 E. Third St., Panama City, FL 32401; or Beach Care Services, 6816 Thomas Dr., Panama City Beach, FL 32408.
