Roald Lehman "Charlie" Brown
June 7, 1939 - March 21, 2025
Lehman was born in Callaway, Florida to Warren and Myrtle Brown. He was the fifth of their eight children. He graduated from Bay High School with the class of '57 before joining the United States Navy, where he served as a Hurricane Hunter. In 1963, he met the love of his life, Sharron, at Hiland Park Baptist Church, where he attended for the rest of his life. He moved on from the Navy to work as an electronics technician before retiring to enjoy his hobbies and his family. He passed away peacefully at Clifford Sims Veterans Nursing Home to be with his Lord at the age of 85.
Lehman was known for being funny, humble, kind, and gentle. He was a loyal Florida Gator fan, but he loved to watch and cheer for any and all sports teams. He loved gospel music, watermelons, and fish fries. He was charitable to all, always had a laugh to give, and was always ready to proclaim his love of Jesus to anyone he met. He was an astute and passionate political advocate who loved campaigning and connecting with others. He loved his family. One couldn't know Lehman without knowing how deeply he loved and cherished his wife, Sharron. His daughters remember him as being a caring and playful father who would take them on adventures and loved them with all his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Myrtle Brown; his sisters Carolyn and Lenita; his brothers Ronald, Flynn, and Mays.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sharron; his two daughters Rita Brown, Tanya Hickman and husband Tod; his grandchildren Carrie Hickman, Camille Jackson and husband Hunter, and Wyatt Hickman and wife Leah; his great-grandson Jesse Hickman; his sister Geraldine Waldrop; his brother Rupert Brown and wife Cindy; his sisters-in-law Mina Brown, Linda Brown, Barbara Franklin, and Marty Ringenberg; his brothers-in-law Billy Gilbert, Sonny Gilbert and wife Loretta.
