RILEY GERALD "JERRY" MELVIN

Riley Gerald "Jerry" Melvin, 65, of Panama City, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2008 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. He was born on July 3, 1943 in Kinard, Florida. He owned and operated R.G. Melvin Fisheries. He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Elizabeth Melvin and brother, Gary Wayne Melvin. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Rosemary Melvin, son, J. Darell Melvin and wife DeAnn, daughter, Lisa L. South and husband Roger, four grandchildren, Bria Marie Leach and husband Justin, Ariel Brooke Melvin, Alexis Victoria Melvin, Blake Darell Melvin, two great grandchildren, Kody Eric-Riley Leach, Jaidyn Rachel Faith Leach, four brothers, Winston Melvin, Roger Melvin and wife Margaret, Joe Melvin and wife Janene, Richard Melvin and wife Arlene, four sisters, Janis Hutchison, Jean Warren and husband George, Elaine Anderson, Sharron Melvin and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Central Pentecostal Ministries with Pastor Don Shoots officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 – 8 p.m. on Monday.
