Obituary

Richard S. Rash, age 78, died November 23, 2015. He was born in Panama City, Florida, where he graduated from Bay High School, Chipola College and attended FSU and Troy State. He had 32 years of military service, retiring as Colonel in the Florida Army National Guard with numerous decorations and awards. He was the OSHA Director for Florida Asphalt Paving Company and Anderson Paving Company, Terminal Manager for MR&R and Smith Trucking Company. He truly loved the military and all his fellow soldiers. After retirement, he enjoyed fishing, fellowship and traveling with his family, friends, and his fellow soldiers. He was a member of the Cliff West Sunday School Class at Hiland Park Baptist Church and a former member of the men's class at Northside Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Annette, his son, Ricky Rash and wife, Barbara of Tallahassee; his daughter Melissa Banks and husband, Mark of Panama City; grandson Chad Rash of Tallahassee; two brothers-in-law, James O'Neal and Jerry O'Neal of Panama City; a niece, Kimberly O'Neal and Abbie Guy of Panama City; two nephews, Ryan Caporale and wife Deborah, and son Ryan of Panama City, Jason Curphey and wife, Amy and children of Savanna, GA.
Funeral Services with full military honors will be held Saturday, November 28, at 11:00 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Fondren officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 28, from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. prior to services.
