Richard M. "Johnny" McCall, 89, of Panama City, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018. He was born September 3, 1929 in Panama City to Percy Leon McCall and Sadie Wheeler McCall. He graduated from Bay High School in the Class of 1947. He served in the United States Army during World War II where he played trumpet in the Army Jazz Band. He was the retired owner of McCall Oil Company. After retiring, he went to work as a field appraiser for the Bay County Property Appraiser's office. Johnny loved little league and junior major league baseball, fast pitch softball and Florida State University Seminoles sports. He was a charter member of Forest Park United Methodist Church and was a member of the Elks Lodge #1598. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty Claire McCall and stepmother, Johnnie Kingrey McCall. He is survived by two daughters, Beverly Anne McCall (Gary Taylor), Brenda Kordich (Daniel); four grandchildren, Richard F. Shores (Barrett Crispen Brown), Brandi Goss (Neal), Kristi Duplessis (Andrew), Kayla Chonko (Stephen); five great grandchildren, Gage Goss, Leighann Goss, Emma Duplessis, Billy Brown and Sarah Brown. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John Friedman officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to Forest Park United Methodist Church to help with Hurricane Michael repairs.
