Obituary

Cove native, Richard "Dick" Henry Beach, Sr. passed to his heavenly home on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2017, at Bay Medical's Covenant Hospice, surrounded by family. Dick and his 4-legged companion, "Pedro" were known to walk in the Cove over the past 14 years and during Dick's retirement years. Having been a part of his family's 2-way radio business with his father and brother some 40 years, Dick later became associated with the Bay County Sheriff's Office for over 18 years. He was very active in the First United Methodist Church, serving as head usher in recent years. Survivors include his wife, soulmate, and best friend of 57 1/2 years, Patricia (Pat) Neeley Beach; brother, John L. "Skip" (Dodie) Beach; daughters, Jennifer (Tim) Ramsey and Beth (Scott) Biddle of Chipley; 4 grandchildren: Christopher Landry and fiance' Angela Diveley of Washington D.C.; Katie Landry and fiance' Josh Gonzalez of Panama City; Jordan Biddle of Marianna, Mason Biddle of Chipley, Great-Granddaughter Quinn Bennett; sister and brother-in-law, Rev. J.R. "Bob" Daffin and Penny Neeley Daffin and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard H. Beach, Jr., parents Clarence and Cali Beach and in-laws John L "Jack" Neeley and Anne Neeley, and niece Iris Beach Hendley.

Active Pallbearers are Ronnie Groom, Bradley Pitts, Brian Miller, Greg Peel, Neal Delmar, Lavoy Anderson, Bobby Johnson and Major J.B. Holloway. Honorary Pallbearers are: Men's Tuesday Bible Class, Bay County Sheriff's Employees, Ushers of First United Methodist Church, Mack Lewis Men's Sunday School Class, Dr. Sidney Daffin , Tommy St. Amant, Bill Lewis, the Asbury Class, Bay High Class of 1954, Mr. Lavoy Anderson, Bay County Commissioner Guy Tunnell, Sheriff Tommy Ford, Sheriff Frank McKeithen, Joe Smiley, Mr. Buell Harper, Mr. Emory Ray, Mr. John Arthur Hutton, Dr. Joe Harbison, Mr. Mark Fisher, James Taylor, Men's Sunday morning breakfast group and the "Shooter Giggers" fishing group.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 am at First United Methodist Church. A graveside service for family and friends will be held on Friday at 9 am at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10am-11am on Thursday at the First United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 248, Panama City, Florida 32402 or Covenant Hospice, 107 19th St., Panama City, Florida 32405.
