Obituary

Ray Louis Warren, 92, of Panama City, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022 in his home.  He was born May 26, 1929 in Bastrop, Louisiana.  His family relocated to Panama City, where he attended Panama Grammar and graduated from Bay High School. He loved and excelled in all sports at Bay High School and went on to Mississippi State University on a football scholarship. In 1948, he married his high school sweetheart, Ann and they made their home here.  The couple had two daughters, Cindy and Pam. Ray served in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Tyndall A.F.B. He was later an iron worker by trade and owned several businesses during his life, the last being a large store and gas station on Panama City Beach.  Ray was best known for being an avid fisherman, for his generosity and his great sense of humor and smile. He loved life, lived large and always looked forward to tomorrow even when life got hard for him.  Ray never talked about himself, he was too busy asking about you. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward & Mollie Warren; his wife, Ann Snead Warren; four brothers, Lloyd Warren, R.C. Warren, Doug Warren, James Roy Warren; son-in-law, Don White and sister-in-law, Kathryn Snead Wheelus (Glenn).  He is survived by his longtime love and best friend, Jackie King; two daughters, Cynthia Warren White, Pam Warren Duncan; four grandchildren, Michelle White, Michael White, Tommy Duncan, Chris Duncan (Kayla); two great grandchildren, Haley Rae Duncan, Matthew Schippert; sister, Annie Lou Koesy;, three sisters-in-law, Ingrid Warren, Mary Catherine Warren, Jeannie Warren; special niece, Kay Walters (Pat), special nephew, Mark Wheelus (Vicki) and numerous other family members.  The family would like to thank his sweet nurse, Andrea and the staff of Emerald Coast Hospice for their excellent care. Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Steve Warren officiating.  In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to  Emerald Coast Hospice or the American Heart Association in memory of Ray Warren.
