Randolph Paul (Randy) Thomason, Jr., 40, of Panama City, Florida, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026. He was born August 2, 1985, in Lafayette, Louisiana. He was a 2003 graduate of Godby High School in Tallahassee, and attended Tallahassee Community College. He enjoyed playing music whether it was the piano, guitar, drums, or saxophone. His senior year, he wrote and conducted an arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody” for the school symphonic band. He was a gifted artist and writer, loved animals, and had the kindest heart and a wonderful sense of humor. He fought Huntington’s disease with grace and dignity for 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Randolph Paul (Paul) Thomason, Sr., his uncles Steve and Joey Thomason, and his beloved grandparents, Jack and Frances (Fifi) McClellan and Gwen and Hollie Reed. He is survived by his mother, Sharon Ann McClellan Thomason and her husband, Sam Hayes; aunts and uncles Fran (Larry) Paarlberg and Jerry (Mary Thomason); first cousins Andrew Paarlberg, Jay Thomason, and Jenifer Thomason Crider; bonus siblings Corey (Carmen) Hayes, Andrea Hayes, Madison Hayes (Justin) McMurtrey, as well as many other cousins, nieces, nephews, and his four-legged best friend, Baby.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 2 p.m. CT in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, Panama City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Help 4 HD International, www.help4HD.org
