RANDALL LEE COATNEY JR.
Randall Lee Coatney, father, grandfather, and brother was called home by our heavenly father on Tuesday, January 5th at the age of 81. "PAPA" was born on November 10, 1929 in Vernon, FL to Mr. Randle Lee and Kate Coatney. He is a brother to 8 siblings; in which he is survived by Corene Sellars and Shelton Coatney. Randall was preceded in death by his bride Mary, who he devoted his life to and loved dearly for a dedicated 54 wonderful years. He is also preceded in death by his daughter Sheila, who we all know he missed dearly and is happy to be reunited with. Randall truly was a family man. Everyone who had the pleasure of knowing Randall knows that his life revolved around is family. He is survived by his daughters, who he loved unconditionally: Rhonda Williams (Gene), and Janna Barnett (Steve); his grandchildren: Nicholas Williams (Kristen), Justin Williams, Michael Sullivan, Christian Sullivan, Jarrett Barnett, Jennifer Barnett, and last but certainly not least, the sparkle of his heart, his great grandchild Jaxon Johnson. Papa loved his family unconditionally and dedicated his life to providing for them. After serving in the Army, he went to work in the steel field. For the last 55 years, Randall has been involved in numerous corporations and businesses, in which most were very successful. He gained knowledge through hard work, and eventually became the entrepreneur of Steel City, Inc. Steel City's success can be very much attributed to the type of businessman he was. Randall was honest, trustworthy and his word was truly his bond. He fulfilled each and every project with the highest of integrity. He was an icon in the construction industry and a vital part of the growth in Northwest Florida. Randall was a member of: The Iron Workers Local, Parker Lodge 142 of Free and Accepted Masons, and Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 2 pm in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Key officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens with a Masonic service at graveside.
