Obituary

James Phillip Massey, 52, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Bay Medical Care Center. He was a lifelong resident of Panama City and was a veteran of the U. S. Army. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church, and the owner of Auto Save Tire Store. He was preceded in death by his father, James M. Massey. Mr. Massey is survived by his wife, Marsha Whitehouse Massey of Panama City; his children, Trent Massey, William Massey, and Jack Massey; his mother, Annette Massey of Panama City; two sisters, Kimberly Massey Gann (Phil) and Cindy Massey Scott (Mike); his father-in-law, Rick Whitehouse (Linda); mother-in-law, Rita Whitehouse (Malcolm Simpson); brother-in-law, Tim Whitehouse; sisters-in-law, Susan Cochran (George) and Jennifer Whitehouse; nieces and nephews, Clete Thomas (Susie), Cayla Anderson (Ryan), Alex Gann, Katie Scott, Slayton Scott, Holly Scott, Olivia Scott, Hunter Cochran, and Birch Cochran; and an uncle, Robert Brownlee. Funeral services for Mr. Massey will be held Sunday, June 15 at 4 P.M. at Northside Baptist Church with the Rev. Luther Stanford officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 2 - 4 p.m. prior to the service. A private family interment will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
