PETER LEONARD SHEA

Peter Leonard Shea, 90, of Panama City Beach, passed away Friday, April 20, 2012. He was born May 1, 1921 in Jersey City, New Jersey. Shortly after World War II, he moved to Florida, which to him was his Shangri la. He was a precision tool maker and engineer, as well as an entrepreneur. He was also well known as a "Junk Jewelry Salesman", which he sold his own jewelry design throughout the United States. But his true love was traveling with his wife, Audrey Nix Shea. He has been a Florida resident for over 60 years, resided in Bay County over 30 years. He was preceded in death by his wife Audrey Shea. He is survived by his two sons, Richard and John Shea; two step daughters, Brenda Broome, Janey Coxwell; grandsons, Christopher Shea, and Phillip Coxwell; and great-granddaughter, Laura Catherine Shea. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, from 12 to 1 p.m., one hour prior to service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, 107 W 19th Street, Panama City, FL 32405 or to Emerald Coast Hospice, 2925 Martin Luther King Blvd, Panama City, FL 32405 in memory of Peter Shea.
