IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Peggye Ann
Hambrick
March 11, 1949 – February 18, 2024
Peggye Ann Hambrick, born on March 11, 1949, in Rockford, Illinois, to the late John and Anna Mae (Murray) Hambrick, peacefully departed this life on February 18, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Peggye spent her formative years in Arbyrd, Missouri, where she attended Southland High School before pursuing her passion at the College of Nursing at Arkansas State University.
With a career spanning over 40 years in the nursing field, Peggye's dedication to caring for others was evident in every role she undertook. Her work took her through various specialties, though she had a particular fondness for the adrenaline rush of the emergency room and operating room. Through her profession, Peggye forged lifelong friendships that became cherished family members.
Peggye loved to do many things. Peggye loved to read and study the Bible. She enjoyed teaching others about Jesus and the freedom He brings to others. She was a fervent prayer warrior. Peggye enjoyed creating art, whether it be through painting or drawing. She loved to write poems, short stories, and books. She loved getting in the car, driving, exploring, and finding new places. She loved Chick-fil-A sweet tea, biscuits and gravy, a Schooner's hamburger, key lime pie, and, on rare occasions, a strong margarita. Peggye loved her family and friends in a compassionate and tender way that will not be forgotten.
Peggye is survived by her beloved children, Jerald Mason of Panama City Beach, Jennifer McRill (Kevin Gosney) of Panama City, and her cherished granddaughter, Madison McRill of Kentucky. She is also survived by her brothers, Buster (Janice) Hambrick of Missouri, John Jr. Hambrick (predeceased, Lurline) of Paragould, and David Hambrick (Gail) of Georgia, and her sister, Rosetta Hambrick Jones of Oregon, and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
On February 18, 2024, surrounded by loved ones, Peggye embarked on her journey to Paradise. Her family finds solace in the knowledge that she was welcomed into the arms of Jesus, reunited with her parents, her son Steven, and loved ones who have passed before her. They take comfort in the divine homecoming she experienced. Peggye is forever in Paradise with them, and her suffering on Earth is finished.
