Peggy Sue Parker Sarvis McDonough born August 26th 1932 passed away September 11th, 2024. Peggy was born and raised in Parker, Fl. She attended Bay High School and Murrow Business College. She and her husband, Frank were Members of First Baptist Church of Panama City where she taught a second grade Sunday School Class. Peggy and Frank moved to Mobile, Al with their careers. She was employed with Alabama Power Company and was involved in Alabama Power Energizers, The Power Puffs, Garden Club, and Christian Women's Club. Peggy was an active member of Dauphin Way Baptist Church where she served as a Greeter, Church Hostess, Homebound Ministry, Prayer Room, volunteer in the library, taught Girls in Action and was active in her Sunday School class.
She was preceded in death by her husband Franklin "Frank" Sarvis of Mobile, Al in 1980, parents Charles "Charlie" Wesley Parker and wife, Jessie Parkers; sisters Edwina Sweeney (Dan), Virginia Thomas (Earl), Florence Gilbert (Earl), Carolyn Roberts (Durell), brother Charles Wesley Parker, Jr.
In 1980 Frank passed away and seven years later she married James "Jim" Bailey McDonough, II of Mobile, Al. Peggy retired from Alabama Power Company after 32 years and loved being a homemaker. Jim and Peggy traveled to many foreign countries during their 24 years of marriage. Her husband Jim passed away in 2011. Jim was survived by his daughters Mickie Russell (Buddy), Charlotte Eggers (Jerry), Pam Stein (Jonathan), Linda St John (Sam), Melanie Talbot (Brent), and son James "Jim" McDonough III, sixteen grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
After returning back to Panama City to be near her son and his family in 2014, Peggy was again active in her Church at The First Baptist Church of Panama City as a Greeter, The Merry Widows, volunteer in the Clothes Closet and a Member of Sarah Ann Gay's Ladies Sunday School Class.
Peggy is survived by her son Ronald "Ron" Sarvis (Gail), grandson Samuel Sarvis, nieces Sharon Caister (John), Julie Gilbert and nephew Kenneth "Ken" E Thomas (Anita) and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at The First Baptist Church of Panama City, in the Fellowship Hall (former sanctuary located at the corner of Harrison Avenue and 6th Street) on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at 12 noon. The family will receive friends at the Church from 11 am to 12 noon prior to the service. A private family graveside service will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
