PAULINE H. WALTERS

Pauline H. Walters "Polly", died Monday, July 27, 2009 at her home in Panama City following a lengthy illness. She was born on March 22, 1928 in Florence, Alabama to William and Mamie Hurst. At the age of twenty, Polly met and fell in love with James J. Walters; he was the love of her life for the next 59 years. While he spent his life as a career Air Force officer, she spent hers as his encourager. Together they survived World War II, the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War.
Polly loved the Lord, her family, and friends. She was a Christian by faith. Her greatest desire and goal in life was to be a good wife and mother; she excelled at both. She is survived by two daughters, Dietra and husband Art Zediker of Panama City and Deborah Walters of south Florida. Other family members include grandsons Brian Walters and wife Debra; James Walters and wife Brandi; Clay Zediker and wife Stacy; Garrett Zediker and wife Maria and Bryan Zediker and wife, Heather.
Eight great grandchildren include Amanda Zediker, Taylor Walters, Trinity Walters, Isaac Zediker, Ava Zediker, Eli Zediker, Jacob Zediker and Dylan Zediker. Nieces and nephews include Tamara Weeks, Michael and David Richards.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 31 at 10:00 a.m. in the Wilson
Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bill Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, July 30 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Active pallbearers will be Brian Walters, James Walters, Clay Zediker, Bryan Zediker, James Zediker and Mike Briere.
The family would like to thank Dr. Marion Mathews and staff; Dr. William Dent and staff; Covenant Hospice; and precious caregiver, Catherine Herbert for all their many kindnesses.
The family requests any donations in memory of Polly to Emerald Coast Fellowship or to the Bay County Humane Society.
