Obituary

Paul Allen Turner entered his eternal life on March 18, 2022 surrounded by his loving wife, Barbara Turner and daughter, Aryn Schouten at his Panama City Beach, FL residence after a long battle with cancer.

Paul was born in Courtland, NY on April 15, 1944 to Rev. Herman and Mildred Turner.  His family moved to Guatemala when he was 18 months old. His parents served as missionaries with the United World Mission. Paul loved living in this beautiful country and shared many delightful stories.

Paul returned to the United States as a teenager to attend high school and graduated from McGraw High School in McGraw, New York.

He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force.  He worked in the aerospace research while stationed at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.  While in Ohio, Paul met the love of his life, Barbara Myers. They married on September 16, 1967 while she was a student nurse and remained together for 54 years.

In 1978, Paul and Barbara came to Panama City Beach, FL. It was here that he established his own business, Paul Turner, Inc. He successfully owned and operated his asphalt maintenance company for the next forty years.

For many years, Paul was a dedicated member of a Men's Bible Study. He was a faithful member of Emerald Coast Fellowship.

In 2022, Paul was recognized by the City Council and Planning Board of Panama City Beach, for his twenty years of dedicated service and commitment to the city and its residents.

He was known and loved by many. He was respected for his honesty and integrity. He lived a full and exciting life.

He was predeceased by his parents, Rev. Herman and Mildred Turner; two brothers, David and Bruce; and one sister, Carolyn. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; a son, Christopher Turner (Leah); a daughter, Aryn Schouten (Ricky); seven grandchildren, Caleb Turner, Susanna Turner, Luke Turner, John Turner, Christian Schouten, Gabby Schouten, Calvin Schouten (Destiny); three great grandchildren, Naomi Grace, River and Kingston; three sisters-in-law, Susan Turner, Carolyn Myers and Lucrecia Turner; numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, April 9 th , at Woodlawn Church at 11 a.m. with Pastor Steve Irving officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday at 10 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the We Care Fund at Woodlawn Church, 219 North Alf Coleman Road, Panama City, FL 32407 in memory of Paul Turner.
