PATRICIA FAYE WOOD BELL

1932-2009

Patricia Faye Wood Bell, died at home after struggling with a recurrence of breast cancer. Born & raised in Los Angeles, CA. Pat led a diverse & interesting life.
In her youth, she played professional ball for Jim Thorpe. She did a stint as a biker chic with the Hell's Angels. Later she served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Then she moved to Dayton Ohio, where she married a restaurateur, raising a family of 5.
Pat was heavily involved in scouting in Dayton, Ohio when her children were young, an innovative leader. Catholicism played a major part of her life & was proud to be involved in the Society of Mary & in the Parish Life of St Helen's. Pat returned to school in her mid-40's achieving her nursing degree & specializing in the treatment of substance abuse. She left nursing to follow her heart. She remarried & eventually settled in Portsmouth, Ohio, where she & Jim operated a marina on the Ohio River. They moved to Panama City & bought the former Etheridge Marina renaming it "Dock at JR's-Eat at Joe's". With a lot of work, they turned it into a successful restaurant & marina.
Pat continued to run the business after Jim's death, selling it just before Hurricane Opal.
In her retirement, she became a member of the Red Hat Society and "Davelyn's Darlings". She was a big fan of the Atlanta Braves & was a card shark at heart. She enjoyed an evening cocktail with neighbors. She will be missed by those who knew her, especially by the remaining members of the "Magnificent Seven".
Pat was predeceased by her husband Jim Ramsey, her daughter, Michelle & the father of her 5 children, McCoy Bell. She is survived by her children, Kathy Bohman & husband Scott, grandchildren, Seanna & Michael Bohman; Debbie Sovonic & husband Ed, grandchildren, James & Jaclyn Ryan; Mark Bell & wife Alyce, grandchildren, Adam & Alex; Denise Bell; Mike Ramsey & wife "Dee".
