PATRICIA KEDDIE STARLING
Patricia Keddie Starling went on to be with the Lord Sunday, October 5th. She died peacefully in her sleep at her residence after a short battle with illness. She was 74 years old.
Pat was born on an Easter Sunday in St. Petersburg, Florida where she was raised by her immigrant father, Charlie Keddie of Llanfairfechan North Wales and her mother Bernice Elizabeth Renney a Florida native. She graduated from St. Petersburg High School and attended Wesleyan College.
Pat was an avid Gator fan, enjoyed a good game of golf and was a lover of animals.
She is survived by her husband John G Starling of 42 1/2 years. Pat is also survived by her 4 children: Nina Puente and her husband Henry of Tucson, Arizona, Robert Staats and his wife Sara of Jacksonville, Florida, Tracy Staats, John Starling Jr. and his wife Martina, of Panama City. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Nick Puente and his wife Brooke, Nathan and Jonathan Puente, Savannah Staats, Brad and Holden Peacock and John and Alexander Starling. In addition, she is survived by two great grandchildren Elizabeth Joy Puente and Joshua Isaac Puente of Tucson. Also, she is survived by her sister-in-law, Ruth Glenn of Panama City, two nephews, Scott Atkins and wife Darla of Panama City and Greg Atkins and wife Kristi of Panama City.
Pat and John were married February 1966 and have lived their entire marriage here in Panama City, Florida.
Those of us who knew her cherished her character and strength and great sense of humor. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8th in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 – 8 p.m. Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Funchess, Carl Anderson, Joey Middlebrooks, Steve Phillips, Tom Greenan and Chip McDavid.
