IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia "Pat"
Petty Garrett
December 24, 1933 – February 4, 2021
Patricia "Pat" (Petty) Garrett of Panama City, departed this earthly life in exchange for an eternal one in the presence of her Savior Jesus Christ on February 4, 2021. She was born in Havana, FL on December 24, 1933, to Austin and Nellie Lambert.
Pat is survived by her husband of 38 years, Art Garrett, whom she always referred to as the best Dobro player in the area. She leaves 5 sons, Jimmy Petty of Panama City, Jeffrey Petty and lifemate, (Tempie Sailors) Crawfordville, FL, Michael Petty of Havana, FL, Glen "Jake" Garrett and Tim Garrett of Panama City, and one daughter, Deborah Garrett (Larry Dean) of Panama City. Three grandsons, Chris Carraway (Joanna) of Crawfordville, FL, Joshua Petty (Tricia), Amy Petty, Drake Garrett (Anna) of Panama City. After having seven sons and grandsons and just one granddaughter, Pat was blessed with seven great granddaughters, Phoenix, Zoe, and Maddie Carraway, Olivia Wilson, Rose Garrett, Lydia Grace and Emma Kate Petty. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Ruth Spencer, niece Sharron, and her two children, Jeremy Moore and Elizabeth Whigham.
She was a God-fearing woman of faith, favor, and family. Throughout her life she was not afraid to let her presence be known and let her grace prevail in all situations. As devastating as the loss of any family's matriarch is, her unquestioning devotion to her faith can reassure all to know, unflinchingly, she is at the feet of The Great I Am.
A private family graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Kent Forest Lawn Cemetery with Dr. Steven Kyle officiating.
Pallbearers: Josh Petty, Steve Willis, Chris Carraway, Chuck Wilder, Charles Bodiford, Drake Garrett.
Honorary Pallbearers: Members of the Friendship Sunday School Class at Hiland Park Baptist Church, Jeremy Moore, Danny Willis, Don Brown, Wayne Garren.
Flowers will be accepted and appreciated, but Pat's request was that memorials in lieu of flowers be made to help further the greatest mission of her life, leading new souls to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To that end donations in her memory to the "For Those Yet To Come" outreach of Hiland Park Baptist Church, 2611 Hwy 231, Panama City, FL 32404 would be her sincerest wish. She was also a long-time benefactor of The Wounded Warrior Foundation, The Salvation Army. The family will match any memorial contributions made.
