Obituary

Patricia "Pat" McMinn Holley, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on June 13, 2026. Born on October 31, 1946, in Penn Yan, New York, Pat was the daughter of Robert and Ann McMinn.

Pat moved with her family to Panama City, Florida, in 1954 and quickly became part of the community she would call home for the rest of her life. She attended Panama Grammar School and Jinks Junior High School before graduating from Bay High School in 1964. She continued her education at Gulf Coast Community College, Florida State University, and Auburn University at Montgomery.

She was co-owner of Holley's Wallcovering with her husband. She worked at the Bay County Chamber of Commerce as the Governmental Affairs Coordinator and Bay Medical Center as the Director of Volunteers.

Pat also devoted countless hours to serving her community. She served on the Board of Directors for the Junior Museum and the American Heart Association and was an active member of the Junior Service League. She was a devoted member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church. Her commitment to civic involvement and helping others left a lasting impact on those around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ann McMinn; her brother, Stephen Scott McMinn; her nieces Erin McMinn and Vickie Harris; and her nephew, Rob Harris.

Pat is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Willis Holley. Pat and Willis were high school sweethearts who began dating when she was just 15 years old, creating a love story that spanned more than six decades. She is also survived by her daughters, Lin Holley Byrd (Dennis) and Lori Holley Childers (Brian); her cherished grandchildren, Sarah Ann Byrd, Samantha Grace Childers, and Luke Houston Childers; her sisters-in-law, Cathy McMinn and Carolyn Harris; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pat found great joy in fishing alongside Willis at Howard’s Creek and treasured the time they spent together on the water. Nothing brought her more pride than watching her grandchildren pursue their passions—whether it was Sarah dancing, Samantha playing volleyball and softball, or Luke competing on the football and baseball fields. She was deeply interested in the lives of those she loved and always wanted to know what was happening with family and friends.

Pat also looked forward to her special traditions, including memorable girls' trips to Savannah with Nancy, Carla and Jeannie and lunches at Victoria's Last Bite with her dear friend Judy. Her warmth, curiosity, and genuine love for others made everyone feel valued and cared for.

Pat's legacy lives on through the family she adored, the friendships she nurtured, and the community she faithfully served. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 2 p.m. in the St. Andrew United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 1-2 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.
