Patricia Lyon Hodges, of Panama City, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, July 02, 2015. Pat was born February 7, 1930, in Lincoln, Nebraska, the daughter of H. Y. Lyon and Margaret Morrow Lyon. She grew up in an Army family and experienced living in many interesting places including the Panama Canal Zone and occupied Japan. Pat attended college at Florida State University where she was a charter member of Delta Gamma Sorority. She married Silas K. Hodges and moved to Panama City in 1952. She claimed Panama City as her hometown for the rest of her life. She was a retired educator having worked for the Bay District Schools for over 29 years. She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Panama City. Pat had a kind heart and enjoyed writing cards and letters of encouragement to others. She always looked forward to serving others at the food bank at her church and was devoted to her bible study group. Pat always had a zest for life and a quick wit, and a wonderful sense of humor. She loved her family and was especially proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved following college athletics and was a life long fan of her beloved Seminoles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Silas K. Hodges. She is survived by 5 children, Jordan Hodges (Laura); Matthew Hodges (Kitty); Patrick Hodges (Mary Margaret); Parker Hodges (Katie); Camilla Husfelt (James); 5 grandchildren, Robb Hodges, John Hodges (Cheryl), Julie Croom (Jared), Parker Hodges, Maggie Hodges, and Justin Husfelt; 2 great grandchildren, Preslie Croom, Channing Croom and a brother, William E. Lyon (Cindy). A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 11 at 2 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Rascoe officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1-2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.
