Obituary

When one needs to see a picture of what a true authentic servant of Jesus looks like, one need not look further than Patricia Brown.  Patty passed away on the morning of June 1, 2023, but her life and legacy of servanthood and evangelism will surely be felt for generations to come.  Even as she spent what would be her final few weeks in the hospital, her ministry continued.  As so many were monitoring the health of her heart, she was focused on the wellbeing of theirs.

Patty devoted her life in the ministry of Jesus, working at The Baptist Center in Panama City, FL for 51 years and serving as its director for the last 14 years.  She received her Bachelors in Elementary Education from Florida State University in 1971 and attended seminary at Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY.  For 51 years, she served the Panama City area in love, faith, and selflessness by speaking to those who came into The Center about the love of Christ, assisting those in need through housing and financial solutions, and mentoring those new and searching in their faith.  She filled the Center with song and music through her piano playing and led childrens' Bible studies each week.

In her free moments, Patty loved to spend time with her friends and family.  Patty, daughter of and predeceased by Thomas R. Brown and Irene R. Brown, was born in Gainesville, FL, and grew up in Tallahassee.  She is survived by her sister Sharon Antonuccio and brother-in-law Mark Antonuccio of Kennesaw, GA, as well as her nieces and nephews Sarah LeCroy (husband Carson LeCroy and children Isaac and Abigail) and Catie Antonuccio.  She is also survived by her extended family, Phyllis Land and husband James, Mike Andler, and Jeff Andler and wife Lynn.

Visitation will be held at Wilson Funeral Home in Panama City on Sunday June 11 at 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm CDT.  The funeral will be on Monday, June 12 at 2:00 pm CDT with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel.  Graveside services will be held at Roselawn Cemetery in Tallahassee on Tuesday, June 13 at 11:00 am EDT.  In lieu of flowers, Patty has requested donations be made to The Baptist Center, P.O. Box 35306, Panama City, FL, 32412.
