Ollie Bea Wilkes, 97, of Panama City, died Sunday, March 9, 2008 in a local nursing facility. She was born December 16, 1910 in Coffee County, Alabama to Nathan & Mary Elizabeth Lolley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Shannon Steven Wilkes, her daughter, Sylvia Wilkes Ford, her parents, 4 sisters and a brother. She is survived by a daughter, Rita M. Thacker of Tuscaloosa, AL; 2 sons, James R. Wilkes Sr. of Brooksville, FL; Gary C. (Gail) Wilkes of Panama City Beach; sister, Jewel (Raymond) Howell of Enterprise, AL; 7 grandchildren, Vince Thacker, Steve (Susan) Thacker, Celeste(Mike) Recio, James R. Wilkes Jr., Richard Shannon (Janell)Wilkes Sr., Pam (Dan) Smith, Lisa (Mike)Utke, 8 great grandchildren, Shannon Thacker, Steven Thacker, Michael Recio, Caroline Recio, Mary Dixon Recio, Richard Shannon Wilkes Jr., Kaitlin E. Wilkes, Michael Utke Jr. and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clyde Ellison officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12-1 p.m. Thursday prior to the service.
