Mrs. Olive Sophia Hunter Buynak of Lynn Haven died at her home on Monday, Aug. 21, 2006. She was 76. Mrs. Buynak was born April 22, 1930, in Scranton, Pa., to Robert and Ethel Hunter who preceded her in death. She graduated from West Scranton High School and from Bloomsburg State Teacher's College, Bloomsburg, Pa. Mrs. Buynak retired from teaching in 1996. She taught at various schools around the world, including Naples, Italy, Albuquerque, N.M., Norfolk, Va., and Camp Lejeune, N.C. She retired from Bay County Schools, where she taught at Mowat Jr. High School and Mosley High School. She was a member of the First Church of God, 1503 E. Business Highway 98, Panama City, Fla., and also attended Christ Community Church in Orlando. Mrs. Buynak was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and a sister. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Lt. Col. John E. Buynak, USMC (retired); a daughter, Deborah J. Buynak of Ocoee; five sons, John E. Buynak Jr. (Marita), of Reading, Pa., James A. Buynak of Lynn Haven, Larry R. Buynak (Barbara) of Albuquerque, Gary W. Buynak of Panama City Beach, Mark H. Buynak of Ocoee; a sister, Gladys H. Troppman of Santa Clara, Calif.; a brother, William F. Hunter (Bert) of Robesonia, Pa.; five granddaughters and one great-grandson.; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006, at Wilson Funeral Home, 214 Airport Road, Panama City, Fl. There will be a memorial service at 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006 at the funeral home. There will be a private burial service Friday, Aug. 25, 2006 at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
