NORA TABB HUGHES
Nora Tabb Hughes, 94, of Panama City, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at St. Andrews Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born November 11, 1914 in Brinson, Georgia to George Byron and Fannie Mae Tabb. She had been a resident of Panama City since 1934 moving from Columbia, Alabama. She was a retired secretary for J & P Self Service Storage. She was a member of St. Andrew Baptist Church, served on the baptismal committee and was member of the Senior Adult Choir. She was a Sunday school teacher for over 40 years and a charter member of Hiland Park Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Nora Geraldine Hughes. She is survived by her four children, George M. Hughes, of Parker, Louise Newsome, of Panama City, Harriet Hughes, of Lynn Haven, James Hughes, of Merritt Island, Florida; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Garland Tabb, of Lynn Haven. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bill Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 – 8 p.m. Those desiring may make memorial donations to St. Andrews Health and Rehabilitation Center, 2100 Jenks Avenue, Panama City, FL 32405 in memory of Nora Hughes.
